Supply Chain/Procurement Manager

Location

  • The role can be based at our Warrington office.
  • Travel may be required on occasion between Orano offices and Client sites.

Employment Type: Permanent, Full Time, 37-hour week.

Purpose of Position

As a Supply Chain/Procurement Manager you will develop and lead Orano ltd supply chain activities for specialist services and goods. The role is responsible for procurement strategy and supply of specialist services, undertaking and managing procurement activities, and ensuring Governance is followed according to delegation of authority and Group policy.

We are looking for an innovative Procurement Manager to lead this growing area. You will spearhead the purchasing process from selecting suppliers, as well as provide guidance on sourcing and procurement processes.

Our Procurement Manager will be a supply chain and logistics professional who will specialise in implementing cost-effective purchases of all goods and services, as required by the Company. Ensuring quality control and adhering to the Company’s policies and procedures on supply chain management will be some of the main priorities when carrying out this role.

Role and Responsibilities

The main responsibilities for the Procurement Manager will be:

  • Responsible for continuous improvement of Orano ltd procurement strategy and process, ensuring the process is robust and compliant with Group Orano policies and governance.
  • As single point of contract for all supply chain matters, lead supply chain activity and requirements for Orano ltd including procurement process, (tendering activities, selection and verification etc); development of supply chain; internal and external audits, supplier health checks etc.
  • Ability to engage at all levels within supply chain.
  • Work with colleagues within Operations, Commercial and Quality to support supply chain requirements, activities and matters and increase supply chain capabilities.
  • Monitor supply chain activity and performance, progress etc;
  • Support periodic supplier evaluations/audits;
  • Support SAP and future SAP improvement.
  • Developing procurement strategies that are inventive and cost-effective.
  • Sourcing and engaging reliable suppliers and sub-contractors.
  • Negotiating with suppliers and vendors to secure terms.
  • Reviewing existing contracts with suppliers and vendors to ensure on-going feasibility.
  • Building and maintaining long-term relationships with vendors and suppliers.
  • Approving purchase orders and organising and confirming delivery of goods and services.
  • Performing risk assessments on potential contracts and agreements.
  • Controlling the procurement budgets and promoting a culture of long-term savings on procurement costs.
  • Preparing procurement reports.

Preferred Role Requirements

We encourage diversity of thought and welcome applications of candidates with transferable skills that can be applied to nuclear decommissioning projects, therefore, there are no minimum role requirements and candidates will be assessed on a case-by-case basis.

The preferred role requirements are as follows:

  • A bachelor's degree in a relevant field either supply chain management, business administration, or engineering.
    Chartered Institute of Procurement and Supply (CIPS) certification is advantageous.
  • 5-10 years of experience in procurement or supply chain management, preferably in nuclear, energy or related.
  • Contract Management experience.

  • Good knowledge of preparing and reviewing contracts, invoicing, and negotiation terms.

  • Highly organised and detail-oriented.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Good knowledge of supplier or third-party management software.
  • Aptitude in decision-making and working with numbers.
