Our people

At Orano Limited, people really are our biggest asset.

At Orano Limited, our people really are our biggest asset. By investing in our staff and fostering a culture of continued professional development within the company, we combine the skills and experience of our teams with our commitment to a professional and high-quality level of service.

Our technical profile has a majority of people at senior grade or above, a number of whom have been appointed as ‘Technical Authorities' within the company. Many of our team are chartered engineers, hold postgraduate qualifications or PhDs, and are registered members of relevant professional bodies.

We offer a vibrant graduate training programme to those making their first steps in the industry, and have a strong team of around 10 graduates across the business. We are committed to the ongoing skills development of all our staff through annual training programmes and by encouraging people across the business to engage with industry organisations such as the Nuclear Institute, the Young Generation Nuclear, and the Society for Radiological Protection.

Dedicated to sustained professional development

Orano Limited runs an annual technical training programme, tailored to the specific development needs of individuals. Encouraging our staff to take active roles in the development of others, the majority of our courses are run by in-house technical experts, complemented by an ingrained mentoring culture that supports individuals in achieving their career aspirations. The quality of our training has been officially recognised by the Institute of Physics (IoP), and in 2016 we won the IoP Best Practice Award for the professional development of our teams.

As part of Orano, we also have access to the full range of training offered by our parent through their ‘Orano University’ initiative, which offers technical and non-technical training to Orano staff across the globe.

Professional and friendly work environment

We also believe in the importance of developing and maintaining a good working environment to support staff development. We hold regular company social activities and pride ourselves on our friendly working environment and ability to provide flexible working arrangements.
