  • Travel may be required on occasion between Orano offices and Client sites

Employment Type: Permanent, Full Time, 37-hour week

Role and Responsibilities

The role of Security Co-ordinator is to support the Head of Security in all security needs, including physical, information and personnel security.

The role provides a key function to support the smooth running of business and involves supporting the wider Orano Security Team to ensure appropriate security clearances, office controls and practices are in place, to ensure compliance with the appropriate security standards and to assist with the regular review of all associated Orano security policies and procedures.

Primarily, you will:

  • be Site Security Controller for the Orano Limited Abingdon office, i.e. you will
    • be the first point of contact for any security matters at the office, providing day-to-day operational support, guidance, and advice to staff with regards to all aspects of security.
    • assist the Head of Security with clint and regulator audits in that office to maintain List N / List X status.
    • conduct security awareness induction training for new starters in your office and participate in delivering company-wide refresher training and office-specific security briefings.
    • support the office manager in changing door codes and managing access to the office.
    • support the Head of Security in ensuring office-specific information security risk assessments are kept up to date.
    • conduct occasional office walk-rounds to assess compliance with procedures.
  • manage the Sign in App web portal for all locations – keeping the portal up to date with current personnel details and extant Orano procedures.
  • assist Head of Security to review and respond to Security Aspects Letters and cascade them to subcontractors where necessary.
  • assist the Head of Security with investigating security incidents in a timely manner, ensuring they are dealt with appropriately or escalate where necessary.
  • highlight and escalate any security risks to the Head of Security.
  • assist with personnel vetting where necessary, to help manage peaks in vetting applications.

This Job description is not exhaustive as the security co-ordinator role is in place to assist the Head of Security.

Preferred Role Requirements

  • You will be thorough and accurate, and fully IT literate. This means fully efficient in the use of Word and Outlook, with a good working knowledge of Excel and PowerPoint.
  • You will be committed to following required security guidance to ensure the company complies with requirements for working on specific contracts and the safe and secure storage and management of client protected and sensitive informationt.
  • It is essential in this role to have very good communication skills. You must have the ability to liaise with key stakeholders on sensitive matters.
  • You will be able to work both independently and within a team environment. You must be responsible and reliable, able to plan and organise work effectively and efficiently, monitoring and meeting deadlines with a good understanding of the wider implications and business impact.
  • 2-5 yrs experience of working in a secure office environment, preferably working with and protecting classified information or in a security-related role, not necessarily nuclear.
